About the project

Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) is a diverse set of technologies that allow for the capture and use of carbon as a feedstock for making essential products such as fuels, chemicals and building materials that today are predominantly derived from fossil resources. Such technologies are at different stages of development and some are already commercially available. CCU technologies provide a wide range of climate-mitigating solutions to carbon-intensive sectors where no or very few alternatives exist to reduce emissions, e.g. process industry, aviation, maritime and construction.
  • Carbon Capture & Utilization Project Development For Bhilai Steel Plant (Sail India PSU) in Collaboration with State Center for Climate Change, Department of Forest, Government of Chhattisgarh
    • Project Value 800 cr (INR)
    • First Phase Approval In Pipeline
    • Project Commercial Value Nano Urea of 2400 cr Per Year Turnover
  • Carbon Capture & Utilization Project Development For Cement Industry in Chhattisgarh in Collaboration with State Center for Climate Change, Department of Forest, Government of Chhattisgarh and Department of Science & Technology, GOI
    • To develop and deploy innovative CCU Test bed in Cement Sector with thrust on Developing CO2 capture + Utilization integrated unit in an Industrial set up that uses a method intended to retain 95 – 99% of CO2 from cement kiln gas with a purity exceeding 95% (1-2 TPD of CO2 Capture)
    • Project Value 30 cr (INR)
    • First Phase Approval In Pipeline
    • Project Commercial Value Ethanol
    • Techno-Commercial Analysis (TCA) and life-cycle assessment (LCA) of upscaling standalone CCU plants.
    • It is envisioned that through continuous Research and Innovation under this test bed in developing innovative catalysts, materials, electrolyser technology, reactors, and electronics, the cost of Green Cement via the deployed CCU technology in Cement Sector may considerably be reduced.
